Dear ISHAM member, a report from the 35th Annual Meeting of the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, held at Göteborg, Sweden, 29 March – 1 April 2009 with 4000 participants, is now available on the ISHAM website under News and Reports. Aspergillosis is particularly prevalent in this patient group.

The ISHAM-Working Group on Mycetoma has taken the initiative to survey and sequence the numerous non-sporulating agents involved in human black-grain mycetoma occurring worldwide. Clinical specimens are urgently needed. The Working Group has set up an efficient and low-cost system for shipping the specimens; click here for more information.
The third meeting of the Pan-African Medical Mycology Society (PAMMS) was held 25-27 February, 2009 in Abuja, Nigeria, with ISHAM support.
