Membership
The membership of ISHAM comprises individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds, including clinicians, veterinarians, biochemists, molecular biologists, immunologists, botanists, pathologists and laboratory technologists. Its activities are governed by an elected Council, comprising a President, General Secretary, Treasurer and five Vice Presidents. The Chief Editor of the Society's journal is also a council member. The officers of ISHAM are all volunteers who recieve no payment for their services.

HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER OF ISHAM
If you are interested in becoming a member please complete the on-line application form:
Your application will be processed as rapidly as possible. On admission to membership you will be required to pay your first year's subscription fee (currently $50.00 US). You will then receive the current year's issues of Medical Mycology, regular e-mailed ISHAM news alerts and ISHAM-SOS service, have access to the ISHAM member forum and all other correspondence for members. You will also be entitled to vote at the ISHAM General Assembly.
The Carlyn Halde Fund
This special fund exists to provide a limited number of memberships for one or two years when circumstances make it difficult for applicants to afford the membership fee.
Priority will be given to those who:
a) are already working in the field of medical or veterinary mycology
b) have an annual income of less than 10,000 euros
c) have no access to any other form of support
Applicants should supply a full postal address of their place of work, the name and email address of the responsible Director, as well as their current e-mail address.
Applications should be made to the General Secretary before 1st September in any given year. The Council will consider each application and make its decision known by e-mail. The decision of the council will be final. Successful applicants will gain memberships from 1st January of the following year.
