Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is our pleasure to invite you to the 8th Congress of Asia and Pacific Society for Medical Mycology (APSMM) will be held in Kyoto from November 6th to 9th, 2024.
APSMM was established in 1997 to promote professional and social exchange among medical mycologists in the Asia-Pacific region. The first congress was held in Bali, Indonesia in 1997 (Professor Unandar Budimulja). Since then, successful congresses have been held in Kunming, China (Professor Duanli Wang) in 2001, Bangkok, Thailand (Professor Preya Kullavanijaya) in 2005, Seoul, Korea (Professor Byung In Ro) in 2009, Chengdu, China (Professor Yuping Ran) in 2013, Bali, Indonesia (Professor Kusmarinah Bramono) in 2016, and Guangzhou, China (Professor Liyan Xi) in 2019.
It is our pleasure to host the APSMM Congress for the first time in Japan, and we have chosen Kyoto, one of Japan's ancient capitals, as the venue. Kyoto is home to numerous historic buildings and offers a glimpse into Japan's culture and traditions. The city boasts beautiful landscapes that change with the seasons, with November being an ideal time to enjoy the autumn foliage. Additionally, Kyoto is known for its exceptional cuisine, which is a highlight of Japanese food culture.
We look forward to welcoming you to Kyoto and to facilitating fruitful professional and social exchanges among participants from various countries.
